Enjoying Sport

Here at Sir Robert Geffery’s School, we encourage children to enjoy outside activities and team games.

In PE we foster an environment in which all children are encouraged to participate in a range of sporting activities. This helps them to develop skills and good sportsmanship in order to ensure that they can play as members of a team or as individual participants, always doing their best.

Swimming is part of the curriculum for years 2 and 4 and there is also an annual Sports Day. Children from all the nearby schools join us for the well-established annual Landrake cross-country run, which is always a well-attended and exciting event.

We have very enthusiastic school teams which participate in matches, tournaments and festivals against other local schools on a regular basis. Our rugby, football, netball, cross-country and cricket teams have all enjoyed participating at local and district levels.
